Frequently Asked Questions
How do I place an order?
All orders must be placed through our website. Having trouble? Contact us at orders@peschels.com and our team will get back to you right away.
If you live locally in South Tampa, you can select local pickup. You also have the option to choose a pick-up time.
What is Route package protection?
Route package protection is a service we offer to insure your order. We ship cakes frozen on dry ice. But sometimes "ship happens" and UPS may delay an order - it gets stuck in some warehouse, mis-scanned, thrown onto a porch and smashed...it doesn't happen often, but sometimes it happens and it pains us and frustrates you! So we offer Route to insure the package so if your order is lost or damaged, you can either have your order replaced or refunded.
If you choose to protect your order with Route (a small fee is calculated at checkout) then if "ship happens", you can either file a claim with Route directly or you can let us know by emailing us at orders@peschels.com and we'll file it for you. DON'T FORGET TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE DAMAGED PACKAGE. Then just submit the pictures and let Route or us know if you want the order replaced or refunded. It's super simple.
Then throw out the cake - DO NOT EAT IT. Dairy has to be kept at constant cold temperature (40 degrees F or lower) to stay food safe, so if an order gets damaged or delayed, it is no longer safe to eat. Just throw it out, and we'll get you a new one asap.
When can I get my cake?
We currently make cakes to order and ship on specific ship dates that are timed to accommodate major holidays. Please see our Shipping Schedule for exact dates and order deadlines. You will be able to select any of the ship dates (or local pickup) at checkout.
Are cakes fresh or frozen?
All cakes are made fresh and then frozen same day. It makes transporting them much easier and they thaw beautifully.
All cakes requiring shipping via UPS ship with dry ice in insulated boxes to stay frozen.
How long can cakes be refrigerated or frozen?
All cakes are made fresh and then frozen same day. They can be stored frozed for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge. Once thawed, keep refrigerated for up to 5 days. We recommend eating sooner rather than later for the freshest experience.
Allergen Information
All cakes contain the following allergens: milk, wheat, tree nuts, eggs.
Specialty flavors may contain other allergens, like peanuts, so please refer to the specific cake's product page for ingredient information.
PLEASE NOTE: we bake our cakes in a shared use commercial kitchen and we make a variety of flavors with multiple common food allergens. We do our best to avoid cross-contamination but we DO NOT guarantee that your order has not been exposed to other common food allergens. If you have food allergies and consume our cakes, you are doing so at your own risk.
Do you offer gluten-free, keto, or vegan options?
Not at this time.
Where are Peschel’s Artisanal Cheesecakes made?
We proudly bake at the commercial kitchen, Pro Kitchen Hub Tampa, in Tampa, Florida.
I live in South Tampa, can I pick up my cheesecake?
Yes!
Cakes are ready for pick up on select pick-up days (you'll select your preferred day at checkout) from 12pm - 4:30pm at Pro Kitchen Hub / The Bakery Box which is located at 5226 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa FL 33611)
Do you ship nationally?
Yes!
All cakes are shipped frozen with dry ice through national carriers like UPS and USPS. Be sure to select overnight delivery or 2-day delivery to ensure the cakes stay frozen.
Due to shipping and packaging costs, there is a $75 minimum order value to place an order for shipment.
What happens if my shipment doesn't arrive on time?
Sometimes, ship happens ;) Sometimes shipments get delayed, damaged, or lost. That's why we've partnered with a shipping insurance company called, Route.
If you select package protection through Route (you can select this at checkout) then if "ship happens" you are fully covered. Route will either replace your order or refund you, your choice. You can either file the claim with Route yourself, or we can do it for you, it's super quick and easy.
If a package gets delayed, cheesecakes will thaw, become damaged, and no longer meet food safety standards. It pains us when this happens, but we can't control UPS. So if it does happen, you can file the claim through Route or we can do it for you. Just email us at orders@peschels.com and include your name, order number, and a picture of the damaged cake. Then throw the cake out - do not eat it.
My cheesecake shipment arrived partially thawed or damaged, what do I do? Can I still eat it?
Nope! Do not eat it.
If your frozen cake arrives partially or fully thawed, then the cake no longer meets the food safety standards for dairy. So, if “ship happens” and your cake is not frozen solid when it arrives, don’t stress.
If you opted in to package protection through Route when you placed your order, you can file a claim directly through them or you can let us know and we'll do it for you. Just send us an email at orders@peschels.com and include your name, order number, and a picture of the damaged cake. Then throw the cake out.
Do you cater events and special occasions?
We do not currently offer on-site catering services. However, if you have a special event and are looking to place a large order of cheesecakes, we can certainly accommodate that for you and ship you the cakes you need.
